My friend Joe sent me this old Great Race pic. That's Joe, Bud, and I getting ready to race my '28 Ford Speedster. I know we're getting ready to rally, because we still look happy and refreshed!!
If we had looked worn-out and haggard, it would have been an end-of-the-day pic....

Documentation from 1955
Here is some of the documentation from the 1950's that came with my truck. Pretty cool!
Folks used to keep track of gas mileage, oil changes, and maintenance in a log book.... long before vehicles had on-board computers. Check out the dates: 2-17-56!!
Notice the gas station below in the upper right-hand corner of the logbook. It looks a whole lot like the Dixie Garage located in Denton, Texas!!!

UNT Truck Project Part II
So a lot can change in 12 months..... I went from owning a rusty 1954 3100 (with a '53 grill) to a 1955 3200 that has the PERFECT patina!
The 1954 needed a lot of work. The 1955 is ready to go as-is. It is perfect for my "UNT-tailgate-party-wagon" idea.
All that needs to be done is to transform the truck into something that looks like a 1950's era North Texas State College fleet vehicle. Back in the day, UNT was known as NTSC:
A local artist and friend of mine is going to help paint the truck and give it a vintage feel.
Check out: Starr studios Here's a example of his work:
More pics and info to follow!
